Now is the time for professionals from all industries, including videography, to be "green." With ever increasing waste and pollution, the efforts that we make will have an impact in the future of our planet. Vintage Images has embraced this thinking and we are actively pursuing ways that we can have a positive effect on the environment and leave a smaller "footprint" on our planet.
Inspired by the New York Times Best Seller "the green book" we have begun to learn new ways that we can begin working and living as environmentally conscious professionals. We also got confirmation that some of the things we were already doing were just about as green as you can get.
Some of our current initiatives include:
On Location
- Moving from traditional tape media to all digital P2 memory cards.
- Dimmable LED lighting solutions for event videography
In the Studio
- Reducing e-waste by recycling or donating electronics that the studio no longer uses
- Studio is now equipped with compact florescent bulbs where ever possible
- Recycling ink cartridges
- Computer systems on power saving modes
- We drink filtered tap water in reusable containers
- No styrofoam! Coffee poured into in reusable, insulated mugs
- Heating and cooling systems used sparingly
And this is just the beginning, we know we can do more! Our next goal: a hybrid work vehicle.
